Gonzalo del Val, one of the strongest jazz drummers in the country, presents a project to honor Steve Swallow, a renowned bassist in the jazz scene in recent decades.
Del Val, leading an electrical quartet that features some of the most interesting emerging musicians in the Catalan scene, proposes an interesting journey through eight compositions by Swallow.
He does this with an aesthetic that is different than his previous work, an electric jazz where rhythmic soundscapes are woven that although they were the soundtrack for a certain period of jazz history, have never ceased being current. In this new work by Gonzalo del Val, they acquire each of the necessary accents to have a full contemporary sense.
Víctor De Diego – saxs and flute
Jaume Llombart – guitar
Vic Moliner – electric bass
Gonzalo Del Val – drums and percussion
