The fusion between jazz and flamenco is undoubtedly one of the most exciting combinations of sound emerging in Southern Europe. Bojaira, the new album by the Andalusian pianist Jesús Hernández joins this tradition offering a work of great stature and personality. Hernández presents eight songs for the occasion, a bulerías version of the standard Laura and seven titles with his own seal. Accompanied by a trio that includes Manuel Sáez on electric base and Álvaro Maldonado on drums, the pianist wanted to have this project with top-notch guests, so by listening to the album, the listener can enjoy the sax of Jorge Pardo, the singing of Jesús Mendez and Sergio el Colorao or, among others, the guitar of Guga Murray and the percussion of Bubacar Kamara. Bojaira is an intense project of sounds with various musical aesthetics that flow, walking together intertwined, resulting in music of extreme beauty and quality.
